Trento, January 8th, 2016
Today with the double session (weights in the morning, technique in the early evening) ended at PalaTrento the week of workouts for Diatec Trentino. After serving seven sessions in five days (six players played also the Bovo Day on Wednesday in Montichiari), the Italian champions will enjoy it the whole weekend off, to rest and recharge the batteries before the resumption of the league.
As of Monday morning then the Yellow-blues will return to the gym to prepare for the first of many double weekly commitments that the calendar reserves in Trentino Volley in the coming months. The group will work to complete the second leg of the quarterfinals of Del Monte® Italian Cup 2016 against Molfetta (on Thursday evening at PalaTrento) and the subsequent trip to Padova (on Sunday 17th for the fourteenth round of Super League) thanks to the return of Georgi Bratoev and Simon Van de Voorde to Trento, busy throughout the Christmas season with their national teams.
"Despite the absence of official games the one that has just ended for us has been a very intense period” - commented to Trentino Volley TV the middle-blocker Daniele Mazzone, among the most beautiful surprises of this first part of the season for Diatec Trentino. - “There was also time to work analytically on each key and remove some imperfections in our technical gestures: block, service but mostly attack, also taking advantage of the opportunity to have Giannelli available. In this way I could improve my understanding with him in the combination of the first half, considering the fact that earlier in the season we hadn’t had the opportunity to refine it, because Simone had arrived just before the Super Cup. I'm satisfied with what I've done so far this season, I think I have been able to exploit some important occasions that I had, but the most difficult moment will arrive in a few days when we must try to confirm at certain levels. From this point of view so far it has helped me a lot the physical and tactics preparation, that the staff has always guaranteed before each match; it has never happened before to find so much attention to details and to be able to work on prevention.”
"We are ready to return to the field;” - continued the number 3 born in Turin - “the first date against Molfetta may look simple on paper, keeping in mind that before winning the first leg of last December 22nd in Puglia, we remedied a bad setback. We have to be good, especially early in the match: if we can attack them with our game system the game will then go on the tracks you want. The PalaTrento factor? I just found out in this season but is actually difficult for the opposing formations to express on this field and I hope that the trend is confirmed in the coming months".
